Mini Goldendoodles are a special type of dog that lots of people have fallen in love with. They're smaller than standard Goldendoodles and come from mixing a small Poodle with a Golden Retriever. In terms of size, they're not very big. They stand about 13 to 20 inches tall and weigh between 15 to 35 pounds, with the boys being a bit bigger than the girls.
These dogs have lovely, soft fur in colors like cream, apricot, and red. Their fur can be curly, wavy or straight. One great trait is they are low to very low shedding dogs, so people who are allergic to dog fur often find them a good fit.
Here's why Mini Goldendoodles are a great choice for a pet:

Good for Small Spaces: If you live in an apartment or a small house, these dogs won't take up too much room. They can be happy in a smaller space.
Good for Everyone: They're friendly and nice for people of all ages. They aren't so small that they are prone to accidental injury (puppies always seem to be underfoot). But they aren't so big that they will overwhelm children. Kids, adults, and even older folks enjoy having them around.
Travel Buddies: You can take them on car trips, and many hotels allow them to tag along.
Not Scary: They're not too big, so they don't intimidate people who might be scared of big dogs. That's why they're often used as therapy animals.
Cost Less to Feed: Since they're on the samller side, they don't require as much food, which saves you money! Who doesn't need that?!
Cuddle Size: They're perfect for snuggling on your lap and giving you lots of love. Often, on the couch right next to their humans is their favorite spot to be.
Easy to Groom: Grooming (brushing their fur and keeping them clean) is easier because they're not too big. You're grooming bills will likely be smaller as well.
Training and Meeting Others
Mini Goldendoodles are smart and like making their owners happy, which means they're good at learning things. To make sure they grow up to be nice dogs, it's important to teach them how to behave when they're still young. It's also a good idea to introduce them to different people, animals, and places so they don't get scared or shy. We put a big emphasis on training at Old Lake Doodles! More on that in another blog post.
Exercising
Even though they're small, Mini Goldendoodles are somewhat active dogs. They need daily exercise like going for walks, playing, and doing activities that challenge their brain. Each dog has their own energy level, so you can adjust how much your dog exercise based on what they need. A good guideline is about 30 minutes to an hour each day.
Health Stuff
Most Mini Goldendoodles are healthy, but they can have some health problems that come from their parents. These might include issues with their hips, eyes, or allergies. A reputable breeder will have tested their breeding males and females to be sure they aren't passing on any health or genetic related issues. This is a must! Don't buy a puppy from anyone who can't produce health and ge

netic testing records of both the mothers and fathers. Going to the vet regularly, giving them good quality food, and keeping up on grooming helps them stay healthy.
So, if you're thinking about getting a dog and want a smaller breed, a Mini Goldendoodle could be the perfect choice! They're compact, so friendly, and can bring such
joy to your life. Whether you live in a small place or a big one, these dogs can easily become a cherished part of your family
